Sally Raymond is a UK specialist in dyslexia support and a writer of practical resources for teachers, parents and support staff. Trained in specific learning difficulties, she holds the DipSpLD (Hornsby) and a PGDip (SEN), and has worked as a SENCo, tutor, trainer and course leader delivering SpLD teacher-training programmes.
Her first widely available guide, Helping Children Cope with Dyslexia (Sheldon Press), introduces the condition for families and outlines ways to work with schools. Raymond went on to develop classroom materials that structure intervention and over-learning. Supporting Dyslexic Pupils Across the Curriculum: Dragonfly Worksheets for Pupils 7–14 (David Fulton) provides adaptable worksheets and teaching advice for Key Stage 2 and 3.
She later produced a companion aimed at small-group and skills practice, Extending Support for Key Stage 2 and 3 Dyslexic Pupils, their Teachers and Support Staff: The Dragonfly Games (Routledge), issued in a revised second edition, and a comprehensive spelling manual, Spelling Rules, Riddles and Remedies: Advice and Activities to Enhance Spelling Achievement for All (Routledge). These titles combine explanation with ready-to-use activities, focusing on memory, processing weaknesses common in dyslexic profiles and strategies for building accuracy and confidence.
Raymond continues to train educators and advise schools and workplaces on dyslexia and related learning needs, drawing on long-standing classroom and one-to-one experience.
Spelling Rules, Riddles and Remedies (second edition) was published on 15 November 2018.
