Ross Collins biography

Ross Collins is a Scottish author and illustrator known for his work in children’s literature. He studied illustration at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1994. Collins has illustrated over 100 books for children, collaborating with a range of authors as well as writing and illustrating his own titles.

Among his notable works as both author and illustrator are The Elephantom, This Zoo is Not for You, and There’s a Bear on My Chair. His illustrations are recognised for their expressive characters and humour, appealing to young readers and adults alike.

Collins has worked with several publishers, including Nosy Crow, Andersen Press, and Macmillan Children’s Books. His book There’s a Bear on My Chair was shortlisted for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal in 2016.
