Romesh Ranganathan biography

Romesh Ranganathan is a British comedian, actor, and writer known for his work across television, radio, and literature. He began his career as a mathematics teacher before moving into stand-up comedy, where he gained recognition for his observational humour and distinctive style. Ranganathan has appeared on numerous UK television programmes, including Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, and The Apprentice: You’re Fired!. He is also known for presenting and starring in shows such as The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan and The Ranganation.

In addition to his television work, Ranganathan has written for both adults and younger readers. His children’s book, Lil’ Muffin Drops the Mic, was published by Puffin in 2021. The story follows a young girl named Lil’ Muffin who discovers her voice through rap and performance, drawing on themes of self-expression and confidence. The book is illustrated by James Lancett.

Ranganathan’s writing extends to memoir as well, with his autobiography Straight Outta Crawley: Memoirs of a Distinctly Average Human Being published in 2018. His work in children’s literature was marked by the release of Lil’ Muffin Drops the Mic in 2021.
