Roddy Doyle is an Irish author known for his work in both adult and children’s literature. He began his writing career as a teacher before turning to full-time writing. Doyle’s children’s books include the Rover Adventures series, which features titles such as The Giggler Treatment, Rover Saves Christmas, and The Meanwhile Adventures. These books are characterised by their humour and imaginative storytelling, appealing to younger readers.
Doyle has also written standalone children’s novels, including Wilderness and A Greyhound of a Girl. His writing often explores themes of family, friendship, and everyday life, presented in a style accessible to children and young adults. In addition to his fiction, Doyle has contributed to anthologies and written plays and screenplays.
Among his accolades, A Greyhound of a Girl was published by Marion Lloyd Books in 2011.
