Riya Chowdhury is a children’s illustrator based in the West Midlands whose work spans poetry and picture-book projects. After studying Visual Communication at Birmingham City University, she began collaborating with UK publishers on titles for primary-age readers.
Her illustrations accompany Karmelo C. Iribarren’s children’s collection Poems the Wind Blew In, translated by Lawrence Schimel and published by The Emma Press. The book presents concise poems about everyday wonders and is recommended for reading aloud from age 6 and independent reading from age 8.
Chowdhury has worked with The Emma Press and Otter-Barry Books, and has contributed artwork to Birmingham City University’s Creative Writing Committee.
