Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Rebekah Clayton is a British writer of children’s and young adult fiction. Her debut novel, Midwinter Folk, is a fantasy set against a frozen London that draws on British folklore and the idea of a hidden realm intersecting with everyday life.
Clayton’s background combines the arts and literature, and her stated influences include nineteenth-century novels, folk traditions and Pre-Raphaelite art. She has written short fiction and maintains an author site discussing her writing process and sources of inspiration.
She achieved a First Class Honours degree in Creative Writing and received the Percy Snowden prize for writing.
Midwinter Folk was published by Troubador Publishing on 28 September 2019 (ISBN 9781838590642).
