Rahma Rodaah writes for children. Her early books include Muhiima’s Quest, published on 1 January 2017, and Little Brother for Sale. In 2021, her picture book Dear Black Child was acquired at auction as a debut title. That book was described as being inspired by her own experience, written in free verse, and centred on race, racism and resilience. Dear Black Child was published on 27 September 2022, with illustrations by Lydia Mba.
Rodaah followed that book with Dear Muslim Child: Building Self-Esteem and Resilience. It is a companion picture book to Dear Black Child and encourages Muslim children to take joy and pride in their faith and traditions. She also contributed to The Antiracist Kitchen: 21 Stories, published on 12 September 2023. Dear Muslim Child: Building Self-Esteem and Resilience was published on 6 February 2024.
