Phil Corbett biography

Phil Corbett is a British author, illustrator, comic artist and game designer. Before publishing his own graphic novels, he worked in the gaming and toy industries, with clients including Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, Nintendo and PlayStation. He was also the last person to write and illustrate the adventures of Korky the Cat for the long-running British comic The Dandy.

Corbett made his graphic-novel debut with Kitty Quest, published by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK in June 2021. The series follows a team of cats who take on quests involving monsters, magic and other supernatural threats. Corbett both writes and illustrates the books.

The Kitty Quest series continued with Trial by Tentacle, Sinister Sister and Phantom Frenzy. The fourth book, Phantom Frenzy, was published by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK in October 2024 and centres on a ghost invasion and the team’s attempt to discover what has happened to their phantom mentor, Mortimore.

In 2026, Piccadilly Press, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, announced Corbett’s new graphic-novel series, Ghost and Toast. The series follows a ghost and a talking slice of toast living in a haunted mansion and investigating strange events surrounding a mysterious portal. The first book, Ghost and Toast: Slice to Meet You!, is scheduled for publication by Piccadilly Press on 10 September 2026.
