Natasha Hastings writes fantasy for children and adults. HarperCollins Children’s Books acquired her magical-historical middle-grade series in 2021, when she was described as a debut writer. Her debut novel, The Frost Fair, began The Miraculous Sweetmakers trilogy.
The Frost Fair is a children’s historical fantasy set in late seventeenth-century London during the Great Frost. Its central character, Thomasina, is a thirteen-year-old sweetmaker’s daughter who encounters the magical Frost Fair while grieving for her twin brother. The book was published by HarperCollins on 1 November 2022 in a 368-page hardcover edition.
The Frost Fair was Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month in November 2023 and was longlisted for the Branford Boase Award. The Sea Queen, the second book in The Miraculous Sweetmakers trilogy, was published in September 2024. The Storm Prince is the third adventure in The Miraculous Sweetmakers series and was presented as a 2026 title.
Hastings also writes adult regency romantasy under the name Natasha J. Hastings. How To Charm A Viscount was identified as her debut adult regency romantasy and connected with the Natasha J. Hastings name.
