Natasha Durley biography

Natasha Durley is a British illustrator and author known for her distinctive, colourful artwork in children’s books. She studied illustration at the Arts University Bournemouth. Durley’s work often features bold shapes and vibrant palettes, focusing on themes from the natural world.

Her debut as an author-illustrator came with the picture book Creature Features, published by Big Picture Press in 2019. The book introduces young readers to a variety of animals through large, graphic illustrations and simple text. In 2020, she published Animal Colours, also with Big Picture Press, which explores the diversity of animal colours in nature. Both titles have been translated into multiple languages.

Durley’s illustrations have appeared in educational resources, editorial projects, and commercial campaigns. Her work is recognised for its educational value and visual appeal. She has collaborated with publishers such as Big Picture Press and contributed to projects for clients including the Natural History Museum.

In 2020, Creature Features was shortlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize, which recognises promising newcomers to children’s picture book illustration in the UK.
