Milly Chapple is an illustrator whose published work includes children’s and young adult books. Her first published illustration project was Northern Dreaming, a collection of poetry and stories co-published by LEEDS 2023 and the British Library in 2023. The book brought together work by 18 emerging and established writers, including Joseph Coelho, Lemn Sissay, Elena Barham and Safia Khan, and was created as a gift for babies born in Leeds during the city’s 2023 Year of Culture.
Chapple later provided the interior illustrations for A.F. Harrold’s young adult novel Thorn, published by Fox & Ink Books. The cover was illustrated by Simon Pemberton. The novel follows fourteen-year-old Thorn, who wakes to find herself hovering outside her body and moves through different points in her past, present and future while trying to understand what has happened.
Thorn was published by Fox & Ink Books on 6 August 2026.
