MC Grammar is the stage name of Jacob Mitchell, a teacher and rapper who creates literacy and learning content for children through music. He went viral in 2019 after a video of him rapping Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo attracted more than five million views.
Working under the name MC Grammar, Mitchell has built a public profile around rapping well-known children’s books and classroom themes. His children’s fiction centres on words, rhyme and reading culture in school settings, and is written for middle-grade readers.
Mitchell is also credited as the star of SkyKids series Wonder Raps and Rap Tales. Simon & Schuster describes him as a World Book Day Ambassador.
His debut children’s series begins with The Adventures of Rap Kid, published on 27 February 2025.
