Maggie Alphonsi is a rugby writer and former England player whose career is reflected in the books she has written and contributed to. She contributed to The World’s Greatest Sporting Rivalries, which was published in November 2012. In 2023 she published Maggie Alphonsi: Winning the Fight: My Autobiography with Gavin Mairs. That autobiography centres on her rugby career and her battles against racism, sexism and prejudice, and it was shortlisted for the Sports Book Awards Autobiography of the Year.
Her books for younger readers include Ultimate Rugby Superstars, written with Matt Oldfield and illustrated by Dan Leydon. The paperback was published on 3 July 2025 and presents biographies of 50 rugby players for children aged 8 to 11. Maggie Alphonsi: Winning the Fight: My Autobiography was published on 31 August 2023.
