M. L. Wang is an author and martial artist who writes science fiction and fantasy. Her books include The Sword of Kaigen and the young adult fantasy series The Volta Academy Chronicles.
Blood Over Bright Haven is a standalone dark fantasy novel by M. L. Wang. Its story follows Sciona, the first woman admitted to a prestigious order of mages, as she uncovers a conspiracy that could change the practice of magic.
Blood Over Bright Haven was originally self-published in 2023. Del Rey published the 448-page hardcover edition on 29 October 2024, and the Del Rey paperback edition followed on 15 July 2025.
