Laura Trinder is a British author and illustrator based in Hertfordshire. She is co-creator, with Benjamin Read, of the middle grade trilogy The Midnight Hour.
She runs her creative work under the name Trindles & Read and is a co-founder of the indie comics studio Improper Books, established in 2009. Before focusing on writing and illustration, she worked as a bookseller for more than a decade.
Her book credits include the The Midnight Hour series, published by Chicken House. In that collaboration, she provides interior illustrations and character art, while Benjamin Read contributes the writing. She also illustrated the wordless comic Night Post, written by Benjamin Read and published by Improper Books; this comic provided visual and thematic inspiration for The Midnight Hour stories.
Additionally, she has worked on interior colouring for graphic novel projects including Batman: Nightwalker. Her books have been translated into multiple languages for international publication.
A recent milestone in her career is the publication of The Midnight Hunt, Book 3 of The Midnight Hour series.
