Laura Callaghan biography

Laura Callaghan is an Irish illustrator who graduated with an MA in Illustration from Kingston University in 2010. Her work is hand-drawn using watercolour, Indian ink and isograph pen. Her commercial and cultural clients have included Tate, Adidas, MTV, The Guardian, the V&A, Nylon, The Sunday Times, The Sunday Telegraph, Pitchfork and Seventeen magazine.

In children’s publishing, Callaghan illustrated Vivienne Westwood by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara for the Little People, BIG DREAMS series; the hardback edition was published on 5 March 2019, and a board-book edition, My First Vivienne Westwood, followed. She also illustrated the Laurence King puzzle The World of Yayoi Kusama, published on 22 June 2021.

Callaghan has also created and illustrated gift and graphic formats. Feminist Oracles: Blaze a Trail with Advice from 50 Iconic Women was published on 16 March 2021. Her graphic story The Voyage, described as her longform debut, was published on 13 March 2023. She illustrated Queen of Arts: Women Artists Book and Playing Cards by Lydia Miller, published on 5 November 2024, and Feminist Oracles (Mini Deck): Wisdom & Advice from 45 Iconic Women with Charlotte Jansen was published on 24 February 2026.
