Kim Woolcock is a children’s non-fiction author who writes about biology, biomimicry and the natural world for young readers. She has an honours degree in literature from the University of British Columbia and a master’s degree in biology from Duke University. After deciding that she preferred writing about science to laboratory work, she became Exhibits Director at a natural history museum.
Her book It’s Tough to Be Tiny: The Secret Life of Small Creatures is a 48-page informational picture book about the survival strategies of very small creatures. Stacey Thomas illustrated the book, Flying Eye Books published it, and its release date was 6 September 2022.
Woolcock co-wrote Design Like Nature: Biomimicry for a Healthy Planet with Megan Clendenan. The book introduces young readers to biomimicry and inventions inspired by nature, and it was published as part of the Orca Footprints series on 16 March 2021.
