Kim Chakanetsa is a Zimbabwean broadcast journalist, presenter and producer. She has presented The Conversation on the BBC World Service since 2014, interviewing women from around the world across disciplines and public life. She co-created and presents The Comb for BBC Africa, and previously worked for CNN International, Deutsche Welle and the Associated Press.
Chakanetsa is also an author. Her illustrated non-fiction book for young readers, Africana: An Encyclopedia of an Amazing Continent, introduces the regions, histories, cultures, landscapes and notable figures of Africa, with artwork by Mayowa Alabi and a reference-led format suitable for KS2 and KS3 classrooms.
Africana was published by Wide Eyed Editions on 4 October 2022 – ISBN 9780711269804.
