Keren David biography

Keren David is a British author known for her work in young adult fiction. She began her career as a journalist, working for publications such as the Independent and the Evening Standard. David’s experience in journalism has influenced her writing style and approach to storytelling.

Her debut novel, When I Was Joe, was published by Frances Lincoln Children’s Books in 2010. The book explores themes of identity and witness protection, and it was followed by a sequel, Almost True, in the same year. David continued the story with a third book, Another Life, published in 2012.

In addition to the When I Was Joe trilogy, Keren David has written several standalone novels for young adults. These include Lia’s Guide to Winning the Lottery (2011), Salvage (2014), and This Is Not a Love Story (2015). Her books often address contemporary issues relevant to teenagers, such as family dynamics, relationships, and personal challenges.

David’s novel Salvage was shortlisted for the 2015 Costa Children’s Book Award. She has also contributed to anthologies and written for younger readers, including the Barrington Stoke title The Liar’s Handbook (2016).

In 2019, Keren David published What We’re Scared Of with Scholastic, a novel that explores themes of identity and antisemitism.
