Katie Cottle biography

Katie Cottle is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s picture books. She studied illustration at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Cottle’s debut picture book, The Green Giant, was published by Pavilion Children’s Books in 2019. The book explores themes of nature and environmental awareness.

Her subsequent works include The Blue Giant (2020), which addresses ocean pollution, and Saving the Sun (2022), both published by Pavilion Children’s Books. Cottle’s illustrations are characterised by their use of colour and attention to environmental themes.

In 2017, Cottle won the Batsford Prize for Children’s Illustration. Her books have been translated into several languages. The Green Giant was shortlisted for the Teach Primary Book Awards in 2019.

Her most recent picture book, My Woodland Wish, was published by Pavilion Children’s Books in 2023.
