Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Karin Littlewood is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s literature. She has illustrated over forty books, collaborating with a range of authors and publishers. Littlewood studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London, where she specialised in illustration.
Her illustrations are featured in a variety of picture books, including The Colour of Home by Mary Hoffman, which explores the experiences of a young refugee. Littlewood has also written and illustrated her own books, such as Immi and When Dad Was Away. Her work often addresses themes of family, belonging, and cultural diversity.
Littlewood’s illustrations have been recognised for their expressive quality and ability to convey emotion. She has worked with publishers such as Otter-Barry Books and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books. In 2010, her book Immi was published by Gullane Children’s Books.
