Jonny Marx biography

Jonny Marx is a British children’s author who has written a wide range of novelty, picture and non-fiction titles for young readers. His books are published by imprints including Little Tiger Press, Magic Cat, Weldon Owen and Caterpillar Books.

Marx has created numerous lift-the-flap, pop-up and interactive books that introduce early concepts, history, animals and storytelling to children. Among his works are The History of Everywhere (Magic Cat, 2021), illustrated by André Ducci, and The Story Orchestra: Four Seasons in One Day (Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, 2016), which presents Vivaldi’s music through sound buttons embedded in the pages.

Other titles include Secrets of the Sea (Little Tiger, 2020), Mythologica (Wide Eyed Editions, 2019, with illustrator Victoria Topping), and The World of Roald Dahl (Weldon Owen, 2020). His work often pairs striking illustration with factual or narrative text designed for shared reading.

Marx’s books have been translated into multiple languages and are stocked in schools and libraries internationally. The History of Everything in 32 Pages was published by Weldon Owen in 2022.
