Joana Casals is a children’s book illustrator and graphic designer. A Fine Arts graduate of the University of Barcelona, she has worked for publishers and communication agencies and later moved into art direction.
Casals is known internationally for the non-fiction title Me and the World: An Infographic Exploration, created with Mireia Trius. Her infographic approach presents global facts for young readers and the book has been published in more than 15 countries. Alongside freelance illustration, she serves as an art director at Zahorí Books, working across visual development and book design.
Me and the World received the Crítica Serra d’Or award in 2020.
