Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Jim Eldridge is a British author and scriptwriter known for his work in children’s and young adult fiction, as well as radio and television. He began his writing career in the 1970s, contributing scripts to radio and television programmes. Eldridge has written for a range of popular children’s series, including the BBC’s King Street Junior and Uncle Jack.
As an author, Eldridge has published numerous books for young readers. His works include the My Story series, published by Scholastic, which presents historical events through the eyes of young protagonists. He is also the creator of the Warpath and Black Ops series, as well as the Hotel Mysteries and Ravenwood Mysteries series, published by Hot Key Books and Piccadilly Press respectively.
Eldridge’s writing often explores historical themes, with titles such as Titanic: Death on the Water and Armistice Runner. He has also written the Who Killed… series, which features historical crime investigations for younger readers. In addition to fiction, Eldridge has authored educational books and resources for schools.
