Jen Williams biography

Jen Williams is a writer from London. Her fiction includes dark thrillers with strong female leads and character-driven fantasy novels with adventure and magic. Her debut novel, The Copper Promise, began the Copper Cat trilogy in 2014.

The Winnowing Flame trilogy won the British Fantasy Award for best novel twice. The trilogy includes The Ninth Rain, which was published in 2017, and it followed her earlier Copper Cat trilogy.

Williams moved into thriller writing with Dog Rose Dirt, published with HarperCollins in July 2021. Games for Dead Girls was published on 18 April 2023 as a 320-page hardcover.

Her later fantasy work includes the Talon Duology. Talonsister, the first book in that duology, was published by Titan Books on 12 September 2023 and won the British Fantasy Award for best novel in 2024.
