Jason Patterson is an American graphic novelist, illustrator and writer, best known for co-creating the series Blue, Barry & Pancakes with Dan Abdo. Their collaboration dates from their high school days, and they later both studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.
The Blue, Barry & Pancakes series—published by Macmillan/First Second—features three anthropomorphic friends who embark on comical adventures. Titles include Blue, Barry & Pancakes: Mayhem on Wheels, Big Time Trouble, Enter the Underground Throwdown, Danger on Mount Choco, and Escape from Balloonia.
Patterson and Abdo also created the graphic novel series Barb the Last Berzerker. In interviews, they describe developing the concept of Barb over shared brainstorming sessions and combining humour, fantasy and heroic adventure in their work.
Beyond their published graphic novels, Patterson and Abdo have produced animated content, commercials, and digital work for global brands. Their professional portfolio includes animation development and storytelling across multiple media platforms.
Patterson lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children.
