Jane Rushmore biography

Jane Rushmore is a children’s author whose picture books are published by Owlet Press. Her work features animal characters and clear, child-friendly plots designed for discussion in early-years settings.

Rushmore’s debut, Marney’s Mix-Up, illustrated by Sally Darby, was published on 22 September 2020. The story follows a grey squirrel whose mistaken assumptions lead to an unexpected friendship, providing a starting point for conversations about similarities, differences and fairness. A companion title, Marney’s Pumpkin Mix-Up (also illustrated by Sally Darby), was released on 5 October 2021 as part of the Silly Squirrel Stories series, focusing on cooperation and problem-solving in an autumn setting.
