Isaac Blum is a writer and educator who has taught English at several colleges and universities and at Orthodox Jewish and public schools. He writes young adult fiction. His debut novel, The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen, was published by Philomel Books on 13 September 2022. The novel was longlisted for the National Book Award and won the William C. Morris Award.
His second young adult novel, The Judgment of Yoyo Gold, was published by Philomel Books on 15 October 2024. The book is set in an Orthodox Jewish community and follows Yoyo Gold as she questions the rules and expectations around her. The Judgment of Yoyo Gold was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. Blum’s next novel, Out of the Clear Blue Sky, is scheduled for publication by Philomel Books on 17 November 2026.
