Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Ingela P Arrhenius is a Swedish illustrator and designer known for her work in children’s books and products. She has a background in advertising and has worked as a freelance illustrator since the 1990s. Arrhenius’s distinctive style is characterised by bold colours and playful, retro-inspired designs.
Her illustrations appear in a range of children’s books, including board books and picture books. She has collaborated with various publishers, such as Walker Books and Nosy Crow. Among her notable works are the Where’s Mr? series, which features interactive felt flaps for young children. Titles in this series include Where’s Mr Lion?, Where’s Mrs Ladybird?, and Where’s Mr Dog?, published by Nosy Crow.
Arrhenius has also illustrated large-format books such as Animals and Cities, published by Walker Studio. Her work extends beyond books to include posters, toys, and homeware, reflecting her background in graphic design.
In 2016, her book Animals was published by Walker Studio.
