Huda Fahmy is an American comics writer and illustrator who grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan and majored in English. Before becoming a full-time comics creator, she taught English to middle and high school students for eight years. She began writing about her experiences as a visibly Muslim woman in America and then turned those stories into comics.
Her early books include Yes, I’m Hot in This: The Hilarious Truth about Life in a Hijab, published on 11 December 2018, and the graphic memoir That Can Be Arranged: A Muslim Love Story, published on 10 March 2020. She then moved into young adult graphic fiction with Huda F Are You?: A Graphic Novel, published by Dial Books on 23 November 2021. The sequel Huda F Cares? followed on 10 October 2023, and it became a National Book Award for Young People’s Literature finalist. Huda F Wants to Know?: A Graphic Novel was published by Dial Books on 1 April 2025.
