Gwen Millward biography

Gwen Millward is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s picture books. She studied illustration at the Edinburgh College of Art. Millward has illustrated books for a range of authors, including Jeanne Willis and Sam McBratney. Her collaboration with Jeanne Willis includes the picture book Bear on a Bike, published by Puffin.

Millward has also written and illustrated her own books. Her debut as both author and illustrator was Guess What I Found in Dragon Wood, published by Puffin in 2007. She has continued to create picture books, both independently and in partnership with other writers. Her illustrations are recognised for their detailed and expressive style, often featuring animals and imaginative settings.

Among her other works, Millward illustrated The Bog Baby by Jeanne Willis, which was published by Puffin in 2008. This book was shortlisted for the 2008 Booktrust Early Years Award.
