Greg Dawson is a journalist who has worked for more than forty years. His newspaper career has included the Boston Herald, the Indianapolis Star and the Orlando Sentinel. He is the eldest son of Zhanna Arkashyna, whose wartime story became the subject of his book Hiding in the Spotlight.
His book Hiding in the Spotlight was published by Pegasus Books on 27 June 2009. He followed it with Judgment Before Nuremberg: The Holocaust in the Ukraine and the First Nazi War Crimes Trial, published by Pegasus Books on 12 March 2012. In 2022 he co-authored Alias Anna: A True Story of Outwitting the Nazis with Susan Hood; the book tells the true story of the young Ukrainian Jewish piano prodigies Zhanna and Frina, and it was published on 22 March 2022 as a middle grade nonfiction novel in verse.
