Garth Nix biography

Garth Nix is an Australian author known for his work in children’s and young adult fantasy literature. He studied at the University of Canberra and has worked in various roles including as a bookseller, editor, and marketing consultant. Nix is best recognised for his Old Kingdom series, which began with the novel Sabriel, first published in 1995. The series includes further titles such as Lirael, Abhorsen, Clariel, Goldenhand, and Terciel & Elinor.

In addition to the Old Kingdom series, Nix has written the Seventh Tower series, the Keys to the Kingdom series, and the Troubletwisters series, the latter co-authored with Sean Williams. His standalone works include Shade’s Children and The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. Nix’s books are published by a range of publishers, including Allen & Unwin, HarperCollins, and Hot Key Books.

Garth Nix’s novel Sabriel was first published in 1995 and has since been recognised as a significant work in young adult fantasy literature.
