Francesca Cavallo biography

Francesca Cavallo is an Italian author, entrepreneur, and stage director known for her work in children’s literature. She co-created the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series with Elena Favilli. The first volume was published in 2016 by Timbuktu Labs and features stories of women from history and contemporary life, aimed at inspiring young readers.

Cavallo studied directing at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan. Before her work in publishing, she directed plays and founded a theatre company. In 2011, she co-founded Timbuktu Labs, a children’s media company, with Favilli. Together, they developed several projects focused on children’s education and empowerment.

After the success of Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, Cavallo continued to write and develop children’s books. She is also the author of Elfi al Quinto Piano and Dr. Li and the Crown-Wearing Virus. In 2019, Cavallo launched her own company, Undercats, to further her work in children’s publishing and media.
