Felicity Brooks biography

Felicity Brooks is an Editorial Director and writer at Usborne Publishing. She studied English and Drama at Exeter University before working as an actor, teacher and lexicographer. She began working in children’s publishing in the late 1980s.

Brooks has written and edited children’s books across fiction and non-fiction. Her work covers stories and novelty books for pre-school children, as well as books about history, geography, languages, science, maths, nature and the arts.

Her books include Living Long Ago, Tales of King Arthur, All About Feelings, The Usborne Children’s Encyclopedia, The Usborne Big Book of Colors, All About Families, Jason and the Argonauts, All About Diversity and Growing Up For Girls.

All About Feelings is a 32-page children’s hardback by Brooks and illustrator Mar Ferrero. The book introduces young children to recognising, understanding, naming and talking about feelings, and it includes notes for parents on emotional intelligence and managing emotions.

Brooks’s books have won the TES Senior Information Book Award, the Aventis Science Books Prize, the SLA Information Book Award, the Sheffield Baby Books Award and Practical Pre-school Gold and Silver Awards.
