Emma Quay biography

Emma Quay is a children’s author-illustrator whose picture books include Rudie Nudie, Shrieking Violet and My Sunbeam Baby. Her illustrative work is held in collections around the world, including the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Bear and Chook by the Sea, written by Lisa Shanahan and illustrated by Emma Quay, won the 2010 CBC Early Childhood Book of the Year. Cheeky Monkey, written by Andrew Daddo and illustrated by Emma Quay, was published by HarperCollins Publishers as a 32-page ebook on 1 April 2011 for young children.

Happy All Over is a rhyming picture book by Emma Quay about happiness in everyday moments. Little, Brown Books for Young Readers published the 40-page hardcover edition on 5 May 2026, with ISBN 9780316590860. Happy All Over won the 2025 SCBWI Crystal Kite Award for Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania.
