Emma Chichester Clark biography

Emma Chichester Clark is a children’s author and illustrator. She was born in London and grew up in the countryside in Ireland. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and then at the Royal College of Art, where she was taught by Quentin Blake.

She has written and illustrated many picture books, including the Blue Kangaroo series. She has also produced illustrations for magazines and book jackets. In 1988, she won the Mother Goose Award as the most exciting newcomer to children’s book illustration.

Her illustration work includes Hansel and Gretel, written by Michael Morpurgo and published by Walker Books on 3 August 2017. She also illustrated Mrs Vole the Vet by Allan Ahlberg, a Happy Families picture book published by Puffin on 1 June 2017.

Her Plumdog books include Love Is My Favourite Thing: A Plumdog Story, Plenty of Love to Go Round and All You Need is Love. All You Need is Love is the third Plumdog book and was published in paperback by Red Fox Picture Books on 19 March 2020.
