Emer Stamp is a British children’s author and illustrator. She grew up on a sheep farm in Devon and studied graphic design before working in advertising. During a 15-year advertising career, she wrote and helped create television campaigns for brands including John Lewis, Cadbury and Volkswagen, and worked as a Creative Director.
Stamp’s debut novel, The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig, was published by Scholastic and began her four-book Diary of Pig series. The books follow Pig and his friend Duck through a succession of farmyard adventures and feature Stamp’s own illustrations. The fourth title, The Big, Fat, Totally Bonkers Diary of Pig, won the 6-8 category of the 2018 Laugh Out Loud Book Awards, also known as the Lollies. Scholastic subsequently published colour editions of the first three Pig books.
Her other work includes the picture book Daddy Fartypants, illustrated by Matt Hunt and published by Orchard Books in 2019. Stamp also created the PESTS series for Hodder Children’s Books. Beginning with PESTS in 2020, the series centres on Stix, a mouse who discovers the Peewit Educatorium for Seriously Terrible Scoundrels, a hidden school for household pests. It was followed by Return of the PESTS and PESTS: Battle to the End.
Stamp’s picture book Poop Stars: The Stinkiest, Squelchiest Talent Show on Earth!, illustrated by Monika Filipina and produced in collaboration with Zoological Society of London experts, is scheduled for publication by Bonnier Books on 8 October 2026.
