Elisa Paganelli biography

Elisa Paganelli is an illustrator, creative designer and visual artist specialising in children’s publishing. She was born in Modena, Italy, in 1985.

Paganelli studied at the Istituto d’Arte A. Venturi, and then earned a degree in illustration from the European Institute of Design (IED) in Turin. Following a period working in advertising, she established her own design and trade business.

She relocated to the UK and now works as a freelance illustrator and creative designer. Her commissioned work includes illustration for picture books, middle-grade and non-fiction children’s titles, cover design, maps, visual design and branding. Her portfolio includes titles such as The Highland Falcon Thief and books in the Greenwild series.

Paganelli’s work receives international publication and her style often incorporates nature motifs and a quiet visual sensibility. Her books for children include Greenwild: The World Behind the Door and The Highland Falcon Thief. Her illustration of Maps of the United Kingdom was published in October 2018 by Wide Eyed Editions.

Her published book The Highland Falcon Thief was named a Waterstones Book of the Month.
