Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Ehsan Abdollahi is an Iranian illustrator and artist known for his work in children’s books. He studied at Tehran Art University, where he later became a lecturer in illustration.
His picture books, often published by Tiny Owl in the UK, include A Bottle of Happiness (2016) by Pippa Goodhart, When I Coloured in the World (2015) by Ahmadreza Ahmadi, and Thinker: My Puppy Poet and Me (2018) by Eloise Greenfield. Abdollahi’s collage-based style incorporates patterned textiles and Persian artistic traditions.
His illustrations have been exhibited internationally, and he has taken part in festivals and workshops promoting multicultural children’s literature. A Bottle of Happiness, illustrated by Abdollahi, was published by Tiny Owl in 2016.
