Dr Fuzz biography

Dr Fuzz is the pen name of author and audio producer Farzad Sharifi Yazdi. His early writing gained recognition when, at fourteen, his poem “Brian’s Head” was selected as a national “Young Poet of the Week” and published in The Times. He later completed a doctorate in geopolitics at King’s College London, an academic background that informs the reflective themes in his work for young readers.

Writing as Dr Fuzz, he creates stories, audiobooks and school workshops that promote courage, resilience and emotional wellbeing. His debut picture book, Poppy the Pea, is a rhyming tale introducing a small protagonist who faces fears and setbacks with determination. The story has appeared in hardback and audiobook formats and is presented as the first in a planned sequence of adventures.

Beyond publication, Dr Fuzz regularly visits schools to lead assemblies and creative sessions, encouraging pupils to persevere in their writing and to build confidence through storytelling. His presentations and resources emphasise practical strategies for overcoming self-doubt and developing emotional literacy.
