Daniela Sosa is a Romanian-born illustrator and author of children’s books. She studied at the Cambridge School of Art, where she completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration. Sosa’s work is characterised by a gentle, expressive style, often exploring themes of friendship, belonging, and discovery.
Her debut as an author-illustrator came with the picture book Friends, published by Andersen Press in 2022. The book explores the nature of friendship through simple text and evocative illustrations. Sosa has also illustrated books for other authors, including My Town’s (Extra) Ordinary People by Claire Baker, published by Walker Books in 2023.
Daniela Sosa’s illustrations have been recognised in several competitions. She was shortlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize in 2023 for Friends, an award that celebrates promising newcomers to children’s picture book illustration.
