Craig Graham is a Scottish children’s author and editor who has worked on the long-running British comic Beano. He has previously served as a Beano editor and holds the title of Director of Mayhem at Beano Studios. Working alongside fellow former editor Mike Stirling, who is Director of Mischief, Graham has co-written a series of illustrated children’s books featuring characters including Dennis the Menace, Gnasher and Minnie the Minx.
Graham and Stirling’s books are published by Farshore, an imprint of HarperCollins. Their Beano Fiction titles include Dennis & Gnasher: Battle for Bash Street School (2021), illustrated by Nigel Parkinson, and Minnie’s Mission of Maximum Mischief (2023), illustrated by Laura Howell. The latter follows Minnie as she attempts to cheer up her parents while dealing with changes in her family.
Graham also co-authors the Beano Fiction Pick Your Own Story series, which allows readers to make decisions that determine how each adventure develops. The series began with The Day the Teachers Disappeared (2024), illustrated by Vivian Truong, followed by The Day We Got Uploaded (2025), illustrated by Wayne Thompson, and The Day We Got Lost in Time (2026), illustrated by Lucie Ebrey.
Graham and Stirling have appeared together at literary festivals, including the Edinburgh International Book Festival, presenting events about writing and creating comics. Their 2026 book Beano Dennis the Menace: Mischief at the Museum, illustrated by Nigel Parkinson, follows Dennis and his classmates on a school trip to London’s Natural History Museum, where dinosaur bones begin disappearing. Farshore published the book on 4 June 2026.
