Chanté Timothy biography

Chanté Timothy is a British illustrator known for her work in children’s and young adult literature. She has illustrated several books, including Hey You!: An Empowering Celebration of Growing Up Black, written by Dapo Adeola and published by Puffin in 2021. Timothy contributed illustrations to Happy Here, an anthology of stories by Black British authors, published by Knights Of in 2021. She also illustrated My Skin, Your Skin by Laura Henry-Allain MBE, published by Ladybird in 2021. Her work appears in The Place for Me: Stories about the Windrush Generation, published by Scholastic in 2020.

Timothy’s illustrations have been recognised for their contribution to diverse representation in children’s publishing. Hey You! was shortlisted for the 2022 British Book Awards in the Children’s Illustrated Book of the Year category. She has worked with publishers including Puffin, Ladybird, Scholastic, and Knights Of. Timothy’s portfolio includes book covers, picture books, and contributions to anthologies.
