C.B. Lee biography

C.B. Lee is an American author known for writing young adult fiction. Lee is the author of the Sidekick Squad series, which includes the titles Not Your Sidekick (2016), Not Your Villain (2017), Not Your Backup (2019), and Not Your Hero (forthcoming). The series is published by Duet Books, an imprint of Interlude Press.

Lee’s work often features LGBTQ+ protagonists and explores themes of identity and belonging. Not Your Sidekick was a finalist for the 2017 Lambda Literary Award for LGBTQ Children’s/Young Adult literature. The novel was also included in the American Library Association’s Rainbow Book List in 2017.

In addition to the Sidekick Squad series, Lee contributed to the anthology All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens throughout the Ages (2018), published by Harlequin Teen. Lee is also the author of A Clash of Steel: A Treasure Island Remix (2021), published by Feiwel & Friends as part of the Remixed Classics series.

Lee’s books have been published in English and translated into other languages. Not Your Sidekick was selected for the 2017 American Library Association’s Rainbow Book List and was a finalist for the 2017 Lambda Literary Award.
