Beverley Young biography

Beverley Young is a freelance artist and illustrator. She studied at Falmouth School of Art, specialising in ceramic design, and later returned to painting. Her illustration methods include acrylic on board and Photoshop, and her published work includes illustrations for children’s books, magazines, advertising and packaging.

Young illustrated How the World Works, written by Christiane Dorion, for the Explore the Earth series. The 32-page Templar Books paperback is aimed at readers aged 7 to 10 and was published on 13 August 2024. The book introduces Earth’s cycles, geography, science and environmental impact through a picture-book format.

Young also illustrated How the Weather Works, written by Christiane Dorion for the Explore the Earth series. The 32-page Templar Books paperback is aimed at readers aged 7 to 10 and was published on 13 August 2024. The book covers normal and extreme weather, including rain, snow, sunshine, hurricanes and tornadoes.

Her other illustrated books with Christiane Dorion include How Plants and Trees Work: A Hands-On Guide to the Natural World, a nonfiction picture book about how plants grow, reproduce, defend themselves and survive in different climates. How Plants and Trees Work: A Hands-On Guide to the Natural World was published on 1 April 2016.
