Attie Lime is a British children’s poet, former primary and preschool teacher, and mum of three. She grew up in the Northumberland countryside and now lives in the East Midlands. She writes and performs poems for young audiences and runs creative writing groups in schools, libraries and festivals.
Her debut children’s poetry collection, Blue Jelly and Strawberries: Poems to Tickle Your Tastebuds, was published by Otter-Barry Books in early 2025. Prior to that, her poems appeared in print anthologies published by Pan Macmillan and in educational series such as Oxford University Press’s Readerful. One of her poems was included in a LUSH gift set.
Lime often writes about nature, emotions and everyday life, drawing inspiration from family, her writing shed and countryside surroundings. She uses a pen name to separate her children’s work from adult writing and is known for her warm, humorous style that resonates with Key Stage 1 and 2 readers.
