Anjali Patel biography

Anjali Patel is the Lead Advisory Teacher at the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE). In this role, she is responsible for developing and delivering CLPE’s learning programme for schools and teachers.

Patel has worked in primary education as a senior leader, teaching across the full primary age range. Her previous roles include Assistant Headteacher. She has led Key Stage 1 provision and Early Years Foundation Stage provision, including work as Head of 0-5s.

Before joining CLPE, Patel worked for a Local Authority as a Language and Literacy Consultant. She has also held a Lead Teacher role for Mathematics and has supported networks of schools with the development of teaching assistants’ practice.

In February 2026, CLPE announced Patel as a judge for the CLiPPA (CLPE Poetry Award) 2026.
