Andrew Fusek Peters is a writer and editor of more than 50 books for children of different ages. He is also an experienced performer and has worked as a poet, anthologist and playwright. He has written and edited more than 70 children’s books, a figure also recorded in biographical material for his books.
His poetry work for young readers includes Here’s a Little Poem: A Very First Book of Poetry, edited with Jane Yolen and illustrated by Polly Dunbar. The book gathers more than 50 poems by English and American poets and was published by Walker Books on 4 October 2010 for children aged 4 to 5 and Key Stage 1 readers.
His fiction for children includes the Ravenwood series. Ravenwood was published in 2011, and Glass Forest followed in 2012 as the second primary work in the series.
He has written short, accessible fiction for readers aged 7 to 9, including Freestylers: The Crawling Hand, published by Wayland on 10 January 2013, and Freestylers: Wolf Boy, published by Wayland on 14 February 2013. These books are categorised for reluctant readers and placed in fiction, horror and supernatural, mysteries and thrillers.
His classroom poetry material includes Using the Senses, a guided reading leaflet for ages 5 to 7 published on 2 July 2009, and Poetry Corner, a primary KS2 teaching resource published on 21 January 2008.
