Ali Donnelly is a writer on women’s rugby and the author of *Scrum Queens: The Story of Women’s Rugby*. Her book was published on 25 July 2022 by Pitch Publishing Ltd, and a special updated 2025 edition followed. The book traces the history of women’s rugby from the 1880s to the present day, including the 1991 Women’s Rugby World Cup, rugby sevens at the 2016 Olympics, and later developments in the professional game. Donnelly founded and edits Scrumqueens.com, has written about rugby for national newspapers and broadcasters, and received a special honour from the UK’s Rugby Writers’ group for her contribution to the game. *Scrum Queens: The Story of Women’s Rugby* was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Sports Book Awards in 2023.
